Favorite Faux Plants

We may feel confident in our DIY and designs, but one thing we are not confident in is our ability to keep plants alive. Our thumbs are not green, which is why we usually opt for faux plants over real plants.

Besides the obvious reason of the fact that they will never die, there are many other reasons to purchase faux plants. They will never outgrow pots, you don’t have to worry about watering or fertilizing them, and they are safe for children and pets.

It is amazing how great the quality of faux plants are these days and also how accessible! You no longer have to go to high-end designer stores – you can find beautiful faux plants at Target, Wayfair, Walmart and even Amazon! Also, with all the advancements in technology, faux plants look more real than ever before.

Things to consider when selecting and styling your faux plant include:

  • Pick plastic plants over silk plants. Over time, silk plants will begin to fray or get bleached by the sun, while plastic plants will keep shape and color.
  • Display your faux plants like you would your real plants. This may include getting rid of generic pots that they in or displaying them on plant stands.
  • Make sure to occasionally wipe down or dust your plants to not give away the fact that they are not real.
  • If you ever grow tired of one of your plants, consider changing the pot or planter, or move the plant to a new location!

We have rounded up some of our favorite faux plants that we either currently own or are on our wishlist!
