When should you start decorating for fall?
Many people start transitioning their décor as early as late August or early September, once the summer heat begins to fade and the anticipation for cooler weather kicks in. We love to start in late August when school starts back up, it helps with the transition into a new schedule. It also allows you to enjoy the cozy, autumnal atmosphere for a full season before winter arrives.
If you prefer to wait until the official start of fall (around late September), that’s perfectly fine too! Fall decorations like pumpkins, gourds, and wreaths can blend seamlessly with any fall seasonal holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving, making them versatile and long-lasting.
It’s generally acceptable to keep your fall decor in place through the end of November, just before the winter holidays. Since many fall decorations feature warm colors and natural elements, they can easily complement Thanksgiving themes. After that, you can start transitioning into winter or holiday décor.
